More than one billion forints are being devoted to modernizing Budapest's public lighting
By replacing the seven thousand high-pressure sodium lamps with an energy-efficient LED light, it is estimated that annual electricity savings of $ 65 million could be saved - the General Assembly submits. When calculated, the replacement of a lamp will cost 142 thousand forints.
Proposed by Gábor Bagdy and Balázs Szeneczey, published on Budapest.hu, the project proposes modernization in more than 30 locations in 15 districts. The construction will last from the first quarter of 2018 until the end of summer 2019.
In Budapest 30,000 can be depreciated, amortized, non energy-efficient lamps, and in the medium term - within 5-7 years - an additional 80,000 obsolete luminaires will be replaced.
Within a reasonable payback period, the replacement of seven thousand luminaires in a LED light bulb can be achieved, which could be financed by a long-term capital source based on energy savings.
The project's expected payback time is 13 to 15 years, and the expected life of LED luminaires is 20 to 25 years.
For the project, the municipality of Budapest will provide 900 million forints support. The European Investment Bank has given its preliminary consent to the financing of the LED modernization project. The remaining HUF 150 million will be provided by BDK Budapest Dísz- és Közvilágító Kft. From its own power, your own employees would do it.
